| Capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| CryptoGuard anti-ransomware | Detects ransomware the moment it starts encrypting files, stops it, and rolls back the affected files, whether the attack runs locally or remotely. |
| Server Lockdown | Application allow-listing means only the software you approve can run, so once a server is set up it stays that way. |
| File integrity monitoring | Watches critical files and directories and alerts you when something changes that should not have, a common early sign of compromise. |
| Deep learning & exploit prevention | AI-driven detection of unknown malware plus anti-exploit and active-adversary protection, with root cause analysis when something gets through. |
| Built for cloud workloads | Protects and manages server policies for auto-scaling groups in AWS and server images in Azure, with a light agent that needs no kernel module or system scans. |
| Windows and Linux | One approach across physical, virtual, and cloud servers on Windows and Linux, managed from Sophos Focus alongside the rest of your Sophos security. |
What is Sophos Intercept X Advanced for Server?+
It is Sophos's server protection product. It adds server-specific controls, such as Server Lockdown and file integrity monitoring, to Sophos next-gen protection including CryptoGuard anti-ransomware, exploit prevention, and deep learning. It runs from Sophos Focus.
How is it different from endpoint protection?+
Servers are licensed and protected separately from user endpoints. Server protection adds controls built for servers, like application allow-listing and file integrity monitoring, and is tuned for physical, virtual, and cloud servers.
Does it protect cloud servers?+
Yes. It protects and manages server policies for auto-scaling groups in AWS and server images in Azure, with a light agent designed for cloud, and no kernel module or system scans required.
What operating systems are supported?+
Windows Server and common Linux distributions, across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
How is it licensed?+
Per server, in volume tiers, on 1, 2, or 3 year terms. Add XDR or fully managed MDR for servers depending on how much you want to run yourself.
