Do I need a separate wireless controller?+
No. Any FortiGate firewall has a built-in wireless controller that manages your FortiAPs at no extra cost. You can also manage them from FortiCloud if you prefer cloud management with no on-premises controller.
How does FortiAP improve wireless security?+
When managed by a FortiGate, FortiAP joins the Security Fabric, so your firewall applies its policies, application control, IPS, and FortiGuard services to wireless traffic. Access points also support WPA3, the latest Wi-Fi security standard.
What is zero-touch provisioning?+
Once registered, an access point connects to the internet, finds your FortiGate automatically, downloads its configuration, and is ready to use. No skilled installer is needed at each site, which makes multi-site rollouts fast.
Do you have Wi-Fi 7 access points?+
Yes. FortiAP includes Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) models such as the FAP-441K and 243K, alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6 models and ruggedized outdoor units.
