What is the difference between the AP6 indoor models?

The AP6 420 and 420E are for general office coverage, and the 840 and 840E for busier, higher-density areas. The 420E and 840E add the 6 GHz band (Wi-Fi 6E). All except the AP6 420 include a 2.5 GbE port.

How are the AP6 indoor access points powered?

By Power over Ethernet. Most use 802.3at PoE+, while the AP6 840E needs an 802.3bt PoE++ source. A PoE injector or a Sophos PoE switch powers them; a power adapter is not included.

Every model includes a mounting bracket for walls and ceilings and is managed from Sophos Focus (subscription required). A power adapter or PoE injector is not included; the AP6 840E needs an 802.3bt PoE++ source. For multiple access points, Sophos PoE switches are the tidiest way to power them. The 6 GHz band is not yet available in every region.
